The God of all comfort

(2 Corinthians 1:3)

God really knows how to comfort His people. Just when your feeling faithless and bummed out.

So, I was worshiping Jesus in the shower, how I do, and I started getting excited about him. After I got out I really felt like calling my friend up on the phone to see how she was doing. I had heard the night before that she had a UTI (urinary tract infection) which she confirmed on the phone. Well, I felt faith arise in me to command that thing to leave her in Jesus name, which it did of course. She said that just minutes before I had called she broke down crying because she didn’t know how she was going to make it through the rest of the day with all the errands she had to make because she was in so much pain.

So, a little after I get off the phone with her (maybe like 10 minutes) I’m sitting around the house trying to figure out how to make a few bucks so I can pay for the clothes I need for Nate and Melody’s wedding… I was telling myself and Nate, “Jesus commanded us not to worry, but to trust him…he’ll provide” Then I figure I’ll walk around the block and look for lawns I can mow for some bucks… So, I go a little ways down the block and I was gonna turn early, but I felt inside that I should go to the next street. Wouldn’t you know it, but there halfway down the block was the friend that I prayed for on the phone. She was feeling much better but we prayed one more time to seal the deal.

After that she gave me a ride back to my house where her kids, my wife, and I all chatted for a while. I told her that I had been walking around the block in the first place was to make some money for the wedding. She said she’d recently been blessed by some work that her husband had gotten doing a job and that she wanted to bless us with a little bit of the money.

So, God comforted both of us. He provided healing for her condition and money for my need. He is always faithful and I love when He reminds us of that.
